Meet the Characters
Ollie the Owl
Ollie the Owl is a wise old owl whose silvery-brown feathers have faded softly with age, giving him an air of calm authority and quiet kindness. His large, thoughtful eyes seem to hold a thousand stories, and when he blinks slowly, it’s as if he’s weighing the past, the present, and what might yet be.
Ollie speaks slowly and carefully, choosing his words as if each one matters — because to him, it does. He has a deep, soothing voice that makes even the most frightened creatures feel safe, and a gentle habit of pausing mid-sentence, as though listening to wisdom only he can hear. Though he knows many answers, Ollie rarely gives them outright. Instead, he asks thoughtful questions, guiding Floriana to discover the truth for herself.
Patient, perceptive, and endlessly fair, Ollie is a trusted adviser to Floriana and a quiet guardian of the world she explores. He watches from high branches and moonlit towers, seeing far more than others realise. When Floriana feels uncertain or overwhelmed, Ollie is there — not to command, but to encourage, reminding her of her courage, her compassion, and her strength.
Despite his serious reputation, Ollie has a dry, subtle sense of humour, often delivering gentle jokes so softly that listeners only realise they’ve laughed a moment later. He believes wisdom should comfort, not frighten, and that even the smallest creature can change the world — if they listen, learn, and trust themselves.
ALI-GATOR
Ali-Gator is a baby alligator with far more enthusiasm than experience — and absolutely no idea just how small he still is. With chubby little legs, oversized feet, and a tail that seems determined to knock something over wherever it goes, Ali-Gator barrels through life convinced he’s already a fearsome swamp legend.
His bright green scales are soft and shiny, his eyes wide with excitement, and his grin a little too big for his tiny snout. Ali-Gator practices his “scary roar” daily, though it usually comes out as an adorable squeak, followed by an embarrassed cough and a quick look around to see if anyone noticed.
Ali-Gator is endlessly curious and forever hungry. He snacks constantly, forgets where he put his snacks, then loudly complains that someone must have stolen them — usually while crumbs are still stuck to his chin. He talks big, trips often, and means well in everything he does.
Though he can be clumsy and easily distracted, Ali-Gator has a heart as huge as he thinks he is. He is fiercely loyal to Floriana, always ready to leap to her defence… even if he sometimes jumps in the wrong direction. His bravery is real, even when his confidence is wobbly, and he never gives up — even after falling into the mud for the third time in a row.
With his boundless energy, accidental humour, and unshakeable belief in himself, Ali-Gator proves that you don’t have to be big to be brave — you just have to try, laugh, and try again.
Floriana the Fly
Floriana the Fly is no ordinary fly. Small in size but enormous in spirit, she shimmers with iridescent wings that glint like stained glass in the sunlight, flashing blues, greens, and golds as she zips through the air. Her large, curious eyes miss nothing, and her ever-twitching antennae are always alert to adventure, trouble, or the promise of fun.
Bright, brave, and endlessly kind, Floriana has a heart far bigger than her tiny body. She believes fiercely in friendship, fairness, and standing up for those who feel overlooked or small. While she can be a little impulsive—often buzzing into situations before thinking them through—her quick mind and even quicker courage usually save the day.
Floriana is a natural leader, though she doesn’t seek attention or praise. Other insects are drawn to her warmth, her honesty, and her ability to make everyone feel included. She has a mischievous sense of humour, loves a good laugh, and isn’t afraid to poke gentle fun at herself when things go wrong.
Despite the many challenges of the insect world, Floriana faces life with optimism and wonder. She sees beauty where others see danger, magic where others see the ordinary, and hope even in the darkest corners. Above all, Floriana the Fly reminds everyone she meets that no matter how small you are, you can still make a magnificent difference.
Robbie the Raccoon
Robbie the Raccoon is a clever little rascal with a sketchbook tucked under one arm and a mischievous twinkle in his eye. Known for his iconic black mask and nimble paws, Robbie has an uncanny talent for appearing where he’s least expected — usually because he’s spotted something interesting (or snackable) worth investigating.
He loves to sketch the world around him, but especially enjoys drawing moments that make him giggle: Ali-Gator mid-tumble, Chris the Cricket caught mid-dance, or Ollie the Owl dozing off between words of wisdom. His drawings are wonderfully detailed, often revealing secrets others miss — sometimes to hilarious effect.
Robbie’s mischief is never mean. He plays gentle pranks, hides acorns in odd places, and occasionally “borrows” things without asking (which he always returns… eventually). When he’s up to something, his tail gives him away, twitching with excitement as he tries — and usually fails — to look innocent.
Though he loves a laugh, Robbie is deeply loyal and uses his creativity to help his friends. His sketches often become maps, plans, or clever solutions when trouble arises. With his playful nature, sharp eye, and artistic heart, Robbie the Raccoon proves that imagination and a little mischief can make every adventure more fun.
Chris the Cricket
Chris the Cricket is a bundle of bounce, beat, and boundless happiness. With springy legs that never seem to stay still and shiny green wings that double as his own personal instruments, Chris brings music wherever he goes. If there’s a quiet moment, he’ll fill it with a cheerful chirp-chirp — and if there’s a crowd, he’ll turn it into a party.
Always smiling (even when things go wrong), Chris sees the bright side of every situation. He greets each new day like it’s the best one yet, hopping from place to place with infectious energy. Dancing is his favourite thing in the whole world, and he can’t help tapping his feet, spinning, or moonwalking mid-conversation — sometimes without even realising he’s doing it.
Chris is Floriana’s greatest cheerleader, lifting spirits when worries creep in and turning fear into fun with a quick jig or a catchy tune. While he may seem light-hearted, Chris has a surprisingly big heart. He notices when friends feel low and knows exactly when to offer a laugh, a dance, or just a friendly chirp to remind them they’re not alone.
Optimistic, playful, and full of rhythm, Chris the Cricket teaches everyone that joy is powerful, laughter is contagious, and sometimes the best way forward… is to dance your way there.
